Rednesday: Old Disney Movie

Before the days of video cameras there were film cameras. I was born in the 1950s and my grandparents had a 8mm movie film camera and projector. They passed both down to me along with old family movies. I also have old cartoon 8mm movies like this Disney one. Love the nostalgia things like this movie bring to me. Happy Rednesday everyone!

Rednesday: Japanese Redware

This is my photograph for Rednesday hosted by Sue Loves Cherries. These are Japanese Redware pieces from the 1950s. They are more easy to find and a lot more affordable than antique New England Redware pieces. The Redware name comes from the reddish clay used to make them not necessarily from their exterior color which usually is brown or black. These pieces are so very Mid Century and super kitschy!

TV Tuesdays: Alfred Hitchcock Presents

I have been enjoying watching old television shows on Netflix. I just got done watching the complete series of "The Twilight Zone". Rod Serling was a genius and many of the episodes have morality themes. Now I am watching "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" from 1955. Alfred Hitchcock was a master of suspense. I also love his sense of humor. I still haven't caught him in a cameo in any of the episodes yet.

Forgotten Fridays: Typewriters

I am old enough to not only remember typewriters but to have actually used them in school and at work. I even took a typing class in High School and was bummed because I got a C. Many school reports and letters were composed on a typewriter. My favorite typewriter was my early 1970s Underwood student portable with cover. I won it in a magazine subscription selling contest. In those days, mistakes were not as easy to remedy as the ease of typing on a computer keyboard today.
