Rednesday: A Few of My Favorite Things

For Rednesday I thought I would share a few of my favorite things. Having grown up with a dad who was a drag racer I have many fond memories of spending weekends at the race track. So of course, classic cars and hot rods take me back to those great memories with my dad.

Here in California we are blessed with some really nice beaches. I always feel refreshed after spending time at the beach. My favorite beach is in Coronado. Here is a photograph of the beautiful and historic Hotel Del Coronado.

What woman doesn't like flowers? I chose this photograph not only because they are red roses but because of the sunlight that shines on them. Hopefully it will bring a little 'sunshine' to you today too.

This post is for Rednesday hosted by Sue over at It's A Very Cherry World. Stop on over to check out the other wonderful posts!

Happy Labor Day!

Today was my daughter's 24th birthday. My daughter is pretty special young woman, if I do say so myself. She grew up with 4 brothers. Need I say more? She is a girly girl but she can definately keep up with the boys. We met her and her boyfriend down by the beach for brunch. We sat out on the balcony enjoying the sunshine, great food and lots of laughs.

I took this photograph when we stopped to enjoy the afternoon on Mission Bay.

I hope all of you have a holiday filled with lots of family, friends, food, fun and love!

Serenity Sundays: Sunset Pier

Photograph © 2010 by Reprise Vintage

Perhaps, after all, our best thoughts come when we are alone. It is good to listen, not to voices but to the wind blowing, to the brook running cool over polished stones, to bees drowsy with the weight of pollen. If we attend to the music of the earth, we reach serenity. And then, in some unexplained way, we share it with others.
