Rednesday: Fall Colors

Last fall I was able to take my vacation in beautiful and historic Virginia. I went in October when the fall colors were in 'full bloom'. Being a California girl I was so happy to experience the beauty of the changing season. This first photo was taken on my tour of "The Wilderness" battleground.
The next two photographs I took on the grounds of James Monroe's Oak Hill mansion and plantation in Leesburg, VA.

I'm sharing this post for Rednesday which is hosted by Sue Loves Cherries. Drop over to see the other wonderful posts.

I can't wait to go back to Virginia again!  Do you live in an area where you get to experience a fall full of wonderful colors?

Your pictures are beautiful and make me long for fall and Ole Virginia! I love that state. We have lived been so fortunate to call it home for 7 years out of my husbands career. I say it is the most beautiful of all the states with so much to offer...mountains, history(oh so much history)and then the ocean. Not to mention all the modern day companies and the government. Love it, Love it all!
Fondly,
Ann

Just spectacular! I can't wait for the weather to change and see some fall colors. Ours in Tx won't be quite that great, but still pretty. Great pic's!

Ahhh....what beautiful Fall Reds. I love the fall but we don't get it here in sunny Florida. I do love to travel in the fall to see fall colors though.

Hello and thank you for stopping by today!
I lived in Virginia back in the early 70's...my grandpa would take us on tours of the battlefields, to Williamsburg, museums...it was the best place to live when I was a kid because I love history! When we left to drive back to California we took the scenic wat, going through the Shenandoha Valley the first part of fall...I had never seen purple hills before!

It would be nice to experience a real change of seasons like that. The photos are beautiful. It seems like we only get summer and winter up here in Northern CA. Do you get the June Gloom down in the San Diego area like around Ventura or is it just beautiful all year? I still can't get over visitng my sister in June thinking it would be a great day at the beach then freezing in the wind an fog!

Oh gosh, these pictures are just fabulous! Living in SoCal as well, we don't see these colors on trees very often. Thanks for sharing such great pics with us! :)

Hello to San Diego! I'm so happy you stopped by today! Your photos are beautiful. I'm here in Ohio and we have the changing seasons....folks take bus tours to areas like Hocking Hills and the Shawnee forest, not to mention the Amish Communities all around. I was born in Santa Ana in 1960, but we left in 1962 so I don't remember much.
